  • Taxonomy and ecology of microscopic algae, especially Pediastrum sensu lato.
  • Biogeography of green algae (Chlorococcales, Desmidiales) in mountain ecosystems.
  • Pediastrum sensu lato in fossil materials.
  • Genome (nuclear, mitochondrial) studies using new generation sequencing.
  • Geometric morphometrics and statistic analysis in botanical studies.
