On investment in research infrastructure – discussion with a representative of the IB PAS at the "Wprost" weekly conference

On September 25–26, the conference "Straight on science. From basic research to development work. The Polish system of higher education and science in the era of contemporary challenges. Perspectives - opportunities - challenges" was held in Warsaw. It was organized by the "Wprost" weekly. Edyta Mazur, a lichenologist from our Institute, was invited to one of the panel discussions entitled "Wise investments – development of research infrastructure". The panel also included Prof. Jan Szmidt (member of the Presidium of the Central Council of Science and Higher Education, director of the Institute of Microelectronics and Optoelectronics of the Warsaw University of Technology), Prof. Zdzisław Gajewski (director of the Center for Translational Medicine of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences) and Dr. Bartłomiej Wysocki (assistant professor at the Multidisciplinary Research Center of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw). The panellists discussed Poland's availability, potential and development of research infrastructure.
