Professorial nomination for two scientists from IB PAS

We are proud and happy to announce that the President of the Republic of Poland has awarded two of our colleagues, Anna Stefanowicz (by decision of December 11, 2023) and Magdalena Żywiec (by decision of February 2, 2024), the title of professor in the field of natural sciences in the discipline of biological sciences.

Both scientists work in the Functional and Evolutionary Ecology Group. Professor Anna Stefanowicz' research focuses on soil microorganisms – their response to contemporary environmental threats, such as pollution and alien plant invasions, and their interaction with plants. Professor Magdalena Żywiec is interested in issues of forest ecology, particularly the generative reproduction of trees.
